The “Ties for Guys” Presentation and Dinner Event honored the young men of Chestnut Ridge Middle School as they were presented a tie from a mentor of their choice, or by a member of the audience.
“When a man ties a tie, it is intentional. It shows that he is not just confident in how he looks, but he understands his purpose in the world. He is ready to conquer any obstacle that may come his way.” Holly Zuber-Banks
During Dr. Khanna’s speech (in separate video), he spoke abut Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s desire for young men to build their character, to not stand with the crowd, and to combine intelligence with their character, as the goal of true education. He was given the award after his speech.
Other Speakers included, NY State Senator David Carlucci, and Police Officer Andre Riobe. Also in attendance were Dr. Aney Paul, Rockland County Legislator; Eudson Tyson Francois, Trustee/Police Commissioner of Spring Valley; and many others.
There were about 300 people in attendance for this awards and dinner event including about 90 students.
